Benguet State University Association of Library Science Alumni connects the graduates of BSEd-LS, BLIS, and MLIS over the years.
This platform was established to trace LIS alumni. Originally, this database aims to provide a directory of BSU-LIS alumni to connect with graduates from 1995 up to the present. The BALSA would provide information about alumni to determine where they are and where they have been. At the same time, this platform hopes to reflect the growth of the graduates over the years. Whether in library, teaching, research, entrepreneurship, or any public service fields, the association celebrates the achievements of BSU-LIS alumni. We recognize each and everyone through this directory and hopefully build stronger partnership within our institutions and personal endeavors.
Instead of periodically conducting tracer surveys, this platform enables each alumnus, with the help of batch-in-charge, to update their education, license, employment or affiliation. Each batch is assigned at least one or two batch-in-charge, depending on the size of their class, to decentralize the management of information found here in BALSA. The database cannot promise a realtime update of all information provided by each alumnus. It can only assure that authorized individuals verify, confirm, and complete the information for each profile.
The following alumni serve as batch-in-charge for their respective graduating batches. They help coordinate with their batchmates and assist in verifying and updating alumni information in BALSA.

The history and development of the BSU Association of Library Science Alumni will be presented here. We hope to process the registration and recognition of BALSA as a chapter association under the BSU Alumni Association, Inc.
BALSA is built by people mostly working in the field of library and information science fields. However, significant number of members are from teaching/education fields, uniformed personnel, private business owners, public servants, farmers and overseas workers. Together, each alumnus forms this BALSA to keep the community afloat in ever changing times.
